“ It is an honor to display my artwork in the Copper Shop”
“I have lived my entire life in Western New York, was employed in teaching and retired as a high school guidance counselor. I had a second career in the US Air Force where my principle skill was in aerial photography though I had many different positions in the Air Force Reserves prior to retiring.
Woodworking has been a hobby of mine for many years. Over the past fifteen years or so, I made a major effort to develop my skills with a particular focus on the creative aspects of woodturning.
I have specialized in forms inspired by the Arts and Crafts Movement for both my woodturning and furniture projects. My pieces are characterized by clean designs with a respect for the natural character and beauty inherent in wood. This effort has resulted in local and national recognition for my work.
In 2003 I became aware of the Roycrofters at Large Association and its artisan program and decided to apply for it. I was awarded artisan status through a juried competition in 2004 and master artisan status in 2007.
I am honored to be allowed to place the Roycroft Renaissance mark on my work.”
