What: Leah Corey - “The Beaded Bead” – Beadwork for Beginners: Level 2 When: Friday-Sunday, March 2-4, 2007; Friday 7-9pm – Instructor’s Reception, Saturday and Sunday 9:00am to 5:00pm Where: Roycroft Campus Copper Shop in East Aurora, NY About: This class is for students who have some experience in basic sewing or handwork, or have completed Level 1. The instructor will begin with an overview of the basics and fundamentals of beads, glass, stone, supplies (catalog resources), materials, tools, safety, jewelry and beadwork. Loom work will be discussed, but is not a focus of this class. Students will incorporate wirework, stinging and bead weaving into wearable jewelry. Each student will complete a minimum of three (3) projects. Attention will be given to each student’s individual ideas and designs with the instructor’s assistance and guidance. Students should bring a small table lamp and a sharp pair of small sewing scissors. Instructor will provide other necessary tools for class use. All other materials will be provided in a kit. Bead colors in the kits will vary, but all beads will be quality glass and all findings are sterling silver.
