What:      Frank M. Glapa, Copper Repousse Metal in the Arts & Crafts Style

When:   Friday-Sunday, April 20-22, 2007; Friday 7-9 – Instructor’s Reception, Saturday & Sunday 9:00am to 4:00pm

Where:   Roycroft Campus Copper Shop in East Aurora, NY

About:     Roycroft Master Artisan, Frank M. Glapa, will lead this 2+ day workshop in Copper Repousse (REPOUSSE – French – to push back) work. Beginning with the most basic of techniques, students will create beautiful and useful objects for their home or office in the Arts & Crafts style. Students are encouraged to bring their own design to interpret in copper in 5 x 7 size Xerox copy. Designs should be kept simple for the first time.

Introduction to the shop and making tools. Fundamentals: Discussion, instruction and background about metal work, the material used, testing participants’ skills and shop safety.

Tools will be provided by and remain the property of the instructor. Some tools will be offered for purchase.

Material fee includes copper sheets, steel wool, blades, eye/ear protection, copied designs, etc.

Class Fee: $200 per student ( Material Fee: $50)
