What:     A Lecture and Presentation Lew Markle, Proprietor Lew’s Canoes .

When:    Friday, May 11, 2007 6:30 - 8:30 pm Program starts promptly at 7:00 pm

Where:   Roycroft Campus Copper Shop

About:   Program: Lew Markle offers a lecture and photo presentation entitled “Building and Restoring the Traditional Wood/Canvas Canoe”. The Program includes a brief history of the wood/canvas canoe, a discussion of the specialized materials and tools used in wooden canoe construction, and a detailed photo presentation of the steps involved in converting a pile of cedar boards into a sleek new canoe. Several completed restoration projects will also be reviewed. A completed canoe and a “work- in-progress” will be on display. Questions from the audience will be welcomed.

Guests are encouraged to stroll across the street along the “Appian Way” to the Roycroft Inn for Friday Fireside Jazz!
