This NEW presentation/tour coming to the Roycroft Campus is based in historical facts as we discuss various rituals and customs that people during the 19th century believed about death. Some may seem rather silly, some gruesome, and some frightful. From the beginnings of Gothic Horror, the loss of a loved one, to the burial and reaching out to those in the afterlife, come and experience a macabre evening of chills, and see how these ideas have influenced our own contemporary views of “horror.” This is NOT a ghost tour, but more a prequel of what’s to come.
During the event, we will be walking between the Power House and the Print Shop, going into spaces that are currently off limits to the general public, including climbing to the top of the Print Shop tower (three flights of stairs). Please be aware that the tower is not handicap accessible. We will be offering this tour on various days and times throughout the Fall Season. Seating will be limited. Please check back for future offerings.
