Fiber Arts – Nuno-Felted Scarf
with Artist, Suzanne O’Brien
1-Day Workshop on Saturday, October 19th from 10:00am – 5:00pm
The Roycroft Campus – 21 South Grove St. East Aurora, NY
Create a beautiful and lightweight accessory unique to your own style and taste, while learning the art of nuno-felting. This class is for adults, ages 18 and up. Felting is fun, but can be repetitive and labor intensive. Please be prepared to stand for significant portions of class time. Special felting tools will be available, and alternate rolling techniques can be used if standing is a challenge. Wet felting is wet and soapy, and hand dyed fiber can sometimes bleed dye. Please wear appropriate clothing, or a waterproof apron, and be prepared to have some ‘good clean fun’.
Supply fee of $40 in addition to the course fee will include: superfine merino wool, silk chiffon scarf base, olive oil soap, and use of instructor’s equipment necessary for felting.
Other materials students will need to bring are 3-4 old bath towels and a plastic bag to bring wet towels and project home. Lunch is not supplied. Please feel free to bring a snack or a bagged lunch.
