Learn to Punch Needle

Join us and learn the craft of Punch Needle rug hooking. Punch needle art is a simple form of rug hooking which uses a large needle-like tool to punch loops of yarn into your chosen fabric. Students will create a Punch Needle artwork approximately 8” by 8”. They can choose between three different designs and colors or create their own simple design. When you learn Punch Needle rug hooking you will be able to create items for the home such as cushions, wall hangings and hoop art or to create fashionable accessories – upcycle old clothing to give your favorite bags and clothing a new lease of life!

All tools and supplies will be provided and are yours to take home. You will be able to create more artwork in the future! Lunch will not be supplied. Please feel free to bring a bagged lunch or something to snack on.

Janet Nye Vedder has experience as a graphic artist, product illustrator, and art educator.  With a Masters in Education and twenty-two years of experience teaching art, she looks forward to teaching a variety of art classes on the Roycroft Campus.

As a Roycroft Campus Artist-in-Residence, Janet currently has a studio in the Roycroft Print Shop where she creates her artwork.  Janet works primarily in watercolor and Chinese brush painting; however, she has a strong background in fiber arts and collage.

Class Tuition: $55 + $15 Supplies = Total $70
Registration is required and seating is limited. (Max. of 12 students)

This workshop is open to those ages 16 – adult

Class will take place at the NEW Castiglia Art Center in the Print Shop on The Roycroft Campus – 21 South Grove St. East Aurora, NY 14052
