6-week Workshop on Wednesday evenings, November 8th – December 20th from 6:00pm – 8:30pm (no class November 22nd)

The Roycroft Campus – 21 South Grove St. East Aurora, NY

Chris Liberti will be facilitating an open studio painting workshop in the Castiglia Art Center at the Roycroft Campus, meeting once a week for 6 weeks. The course is designed for all levels from beginner to advanced students with instruction and guidance provided to each individual as needed. The workshop will focus instruction on the formal elements of painting (composition, color, value, shape, surface).

An exhibit will be held at the closing of the workshop in the Castiglia Art Center of all the attendees’ work and will be on view to the public through the holidays (dates to be determined).  In addition, all participants will be automatically registered for a 1-year membership to the Castiglia Art Center, which allows students to use the art center during open hours for the next year. Mr. Liberti will be painting alongside the class as we work from life (still life, interiors, window views). Materials are flexible, bring your own (non-toxic) materials. You can work in oils, acrylics, collage… If working in oil, please bring non-toxic thinners and cleaners such as walnut oil and safflower oil. There will be a few still-life setups arranged, or feel free to bring your own objects. Easels, taborets and lockers will be provided to store your materials and paintings over the duration of the workshop. Lockers can hold paintings as large as 16”x20”. There are drying racks for larger works.

Raised and educated on the East Coast, Chris Liberti studied Fine Arts (painting) at Buffalo State College. He shows extensively both nationally and internationally including England, New York, California, Virginia, North Carolina, Washington, and Georgia. He has taught workshops throughout the US and Italy. He has been exhibiting in East Aurora at Meibohm Fine Arts since 2016 and is a studio member of the Castiglia Art Center at the Roycroft Campus.

Class Tuition: $200 = Total $200
Registration is required and seating is limited. (Max. of 12 students)
