Writing: Some Time to Write workshop

Making time to write that story, memoir, essay or poem that has been simmering on the back burner can be difficult in a busy life. What if you had one day in a quiet, stimulating space where the only thing on your docket was writing? Spend a day on the historic Roycroft Campus summoning the Muses, writing and, if you choose, sharing. We’ll begin with some warm-ups and directed exercises, then give you time to write. Work on a project you have underway or let me help you plan one.

Students should bring whatever materials they feel most comfortable with writing (ex. Pad of paper, journal, notecards, laptop, pencils, pens, etc.)

All welcome from first-time to veteran writers.

Rick Ohler has been offering writing workshops for 40 years. Writers from his workshops have published fiction, memoir, poetry, children’s literature, family history and more, many with Rick’s editing help. Rick has been writing the bi-weekly “View From Right Field” column for the East Aurora Advertiser for 20 years. In addition to his column, Rick writes features and news stories, covers high school sports, interviews interesting local folks for human interest stories. He published a memoir, Have You Lived Here All Your Life? “…Not Yet,” available locally.

Class Tuition $100 (includes refreshments and lunch)
Registration is required and seating is limited to 10 participants
