The original Roycrofters often printed in two colors; black and red, which can be a little more complex and time consuming than simply printing in one. This class will follow in the footsteps of the Roycrofters with students creating a two-color print using the fonts and designs available in the Roycroft Campus Press Room collection. Learn two-color printing techniques on relief printing presses including techniques like making a frisket and color-overlapping. This class is a continuation from our Introduction to Letterpress workshop which is a prerequisite. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Supplies include all materials needed to make multiple copies of their typeset quote. The tools provided during the class project; type, chase, etc. will remain the property of the Campus. Students are asked to bring a quote of no more than two lines to the first class or they can choose from a variety of Hubbard quotes. You are also highly recommended to bring magnification glasses if needed, and to wear appropriate clothing while working with ink and mineral spirits.

Class Tuition: $90 + $10 Supplies = $100
Registration is required and seating is limited. (Max. of 4 students). This workshop is open to those ages 16 – adult
