The Roycroft Film Society will be screening the 2016 French-Belgian film Lost in Paris” on December 9th, 2018 at 4pm. An absurd comedy that’s always entertaining and occasionally pure, with inventive slapstick on par with Chaplin and Jacques Tati.

Co-produced, written, directed and starring Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon, this quirky tale finds Fiona (played by Gordon), a Canadian librarian who travels to Paris and discovers that her 88-year-old aunt is missing. As Fiona scours the city looking for her, she encounters Dom (played by Abel), a friendly but annoying tramp who won’t leave her alone. The pair embark on a surreal journey that is littered with mishaps and pratfalls in search of the elderly women.

The critical consensus reads, "Lost in Paris is whimsical to a fault, but its fanciful light-heartedness earns the audience's indulgence with charming performances and an infectious absurdity." The film is certified fresh on the website Rotten Tomatoes, and was nominated for three Magritte Awards, including Best Film, winning for Best Editing.
