Arts & Craftsmen Guild Auction to benefit the historic Roycroft Campus

We are pleased to be auctioning off 15 one-of-a-kind works of art created by the artists of the Arts & Craftsmen Guild. The Guild has generously donated these unique pieces, most of which are collaborative projects, to the Roycroft Campus to be auctioned and raise much-needed funds for the Campus’ restoration and programs.

The auction closes on March 4, 2021

About the Arts & Craftsmen Guild

The Arts & Craftsmen Guild was formed in 2015 with a mission to inspire positive collaboration amongst craftsmen, the community, and the Roycroft Campus. It aims to promote and preserve the home of the American Arts & Crafts Movement and to foster the fellowship and tranquility among artists of all mediums along with their supporters.

Excellence in artistry and craftsmanship are core values of the guild. The “Juried Artist” designation recognizes those artists who consistently create exemplary work rooted in the Arts & Crafts tradition.

Asymmetrical Ginkgo Leaves Necklace

Current bid: $250.00

This beautiful necklace was created by Marie Gniazdowski and Kim O’Sullivan.  Marie made the pendant, which was sculpted in fine silver to embellish a druzy quartz.  Kim integrated beads which created an asymmetrical necklace with druzy quartz beads, black onyx beads, smoky quartz beads, Swarovski crystals, sterling silver beads, and a sterling silver toggle clasp.  Marie is a Senior Certified Art Clay Instructor for Art Clay World in Chicago, Illinois and a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology’s School for American Craftsmen.  Kim is a jewelry artisan who creates adornments using the technique of wire-wrapping.

Autumnal Harmony Necklace and Earrings

Current bid: $175.00

Exquisite necklace and earrings created by Kim O’Sullivan (wire art and jewelry) and Bev Fehringer (pottery).  Bev designed & hand sculpted the three stoneware “leaves” in the necklace and the two leaves in the earrings.  Kim created a bezel for Bev’s leaves by wire-wrapping them with Sterling Silver wire and embellishing them with semi-precious gemstones and Sterling Silver beads; and she added beadwork of Mahogany Jasper beads and Copper Jasper beads to create a 20″ necklace with a Sterling Silver Toggle Clasp.  Additionally, Kim created earrings with Bev’s leaves and added gemstones to make the perfect matching set.

Le Jardin de l’eau

Le Jardin de l’eau is an original collaborative piece by Jason Baker (marquetry/veneer inlays) and Karen Carlton (painter and pen & ink artist).  Using a photo as reference, 36 different types of exotic veneer were hand cut with an exacto blade.  Pen and ink was drawn on top of the wood. Then it was hand stained, sanding sealer applied and then finalized with three coats of lacquer.  Materials included wood, pen and ink, stain, lacquer.  Dimensions: 15.75″ x 22″

Bead Embroidered Felted Vessel

This Bead Embroidered Felted Vessel is a collaboration between Suzanne O’Brien and Lisa Ballowe.  The vessel is 7″ by 7″ and was hand formed and felted out of wool fibers by Suzanne in beautiful shades of green, gray, and golds.  Then Lisa embellished it with a Labradorite stone, Tiger’s eye, freshwater pearls, and various beads, all stitched on by hand.

Ikebana Dogwood

This graceful dogwood sculpture was a collaboration between Juried Artists Vicki Schneider, glass sculptor, and Ray Deibel, woodworker.  Its design is an homage to the Japanese art of Ikebana.  The floral portion was sculpted by hand from soda lime glass in the flame of a propane and oxygen torch.  The wooden base was turned in a lathe from two pieces of cherry wood.  The piece is signed by both artists and includes the ACG shop mark signifying it’s an authentic piece created by the guild’s Juried Artists.  Dimensions: 11”H x 7”W x 6”D
