Description
Karen Carlton’s inspiration comes from nature, she loves its ever-changing fluidity and how the light and colors play off one another. Carlton tries to capture the beauty and vibrancy found in nature by her use of brushstrokes and color, and loves when a painting takes on a life of its own, different than how she originally planned. That is part of the journey and part of the artistic process that she finds rewarding.
Karen was born and raised locally, and is happy to be back in the area after having spent twenty years in Connecticut. She earned her art degree from University of Connecticut and has been active in the local and regional art scene for many years. She is a member of Art & Craftsmen Guild, Enjoy the Journey, Western New York Artists Group, and Springville Center for the Arts. She has shown in many local and regional art galleries, been juried into regional shows, and has a studio space right on our Historic Campus in the Print Shop building.
