Icicles….. This handmade glass icicle is ready to decorate your home, or tree, or as a gift. Each is made by applying lines of clear and thin white over clear. Then Congdon carefully heats, twists, and shapes in the flame and then fully annealed.  Each icicle is strung with a transparent cord and ready to hang. Since handmade, the icicles vary in size from 4.5″ to 3.25″ in length from top to tip.

Description

Becky Congdon is a flameworking professional with diverse experience in glass flameworking, teaching, and presenting. Congdon has degrees in mechanical engineering and computer science, and have always loved glass. Her major life change came when she had the great opportunity to work in Corning, NY and was “smitten” by glass. Her first date with her husband was a hands-on open house at The Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY.  Congdon left the “engineering-faith” so to speak to use the artistic side of her brain full time in 2006.

Congdon has taught over 10 years at The Corning Museum of Glass and local studios.  She has been a teaching assistant for world class glass artists such as Paul Stankard, Emilio Santini, Debbie Tarsitano, Loren Stump, etc. Congdon has participated in juried shows and exhibits at the Glass Art Society Conference, West End Gallery, Clothesline, Arts in the Gardens, etc.  Her work has been published in magazines such as: The GlassLine Magazine, The Flow Magazine, LAMMAGA, The GlassBead Magazine, and the Canandaigua Magazine.

 Becky now has her own studio in Honeoye, NY (the lovely Finger Lakes region).
