A resident of Ohio, Bob Maurer has been enjoying the spontaneity and freshness of painting with watercolors since 1972.
Bob is interested in capturing a subtle mood in his paintings, just as the California tonalists did in the early twentieth century. He makes note that the actual objects in each scene often act as more of a backdrop for the atmospheric effects of his pieces.
Architecture has been Bob’s favorite since the 1950’s when he became impressed with Frank Lloyd Wright. He is also interested in old trucks, cars, boats, bicycles and landscapes.
