Volunteers are an essential part of life at the Roycroft Campus. As stewards of Elbert Hubbard’s legacy and the Arts & Crafts tradition, our volunteers support nearly every aspect of campus operations, from welcoming visitors and sharing the Roycroft story to assisting with programs, special events, tours, and outreach initiatives.
Whether you are interested in volunteering regularly or lending a hand for special events, there is a meaningful way to get involved. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds who have an appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and community, and who are committed to creating engaging and memorable experiences for our guests. This includes those seeking community service hours or professional experience.
Please note: Some volunteer roles may require specific skills or experience, such as teaching or public speaking.
Docents:
As a docent, you will play a key role in helping guests explore the Campus. You will help connect visitors to the history of the Roycroft Campus by leading tours or offering insight during Museum open hours. This is a great opportunity for volunteers who enjoy public speaking, education, and engaging people of all ages.
Special Events:
Special Events volunteers are part of the behind-the-scenes magic that makes our fundraising events and Art Shows shine. There is a wide variety of things to be done, like setting up, assisting guests in the Copper Shop Gallery and manning information and craft tables.
Press Room:
The return of our publishing department includes a growing company of volunteer printers, binders and painters. If you would like to participate in creating books for the Roycroft Campus Press we are currently seeking several new volunteers to join us. We have openings for individuals to use our letterpress machinery to print pages and covers. We also have openings for individuals to paint, fold and bind books.
