In its fifth year of operation, The Neil and Barbara Chur Family Gallery is located in the Roycroft Power House and offers a venue for artists to showcase their work that is steeped in the tradition of head, heart and hand craftsmanship. All exhibits are free to the public and open daily from 10 am to 5 pm (unless the building is closed for a private event).

Currently on Exhibit: LeAnne Marquis

LeAnne Marquis has her BFA in Sculpture & Painting from the University of Hartford Art School in Hartford, Connecticut and has spent the past 12 years developing her ten-step ‘fire painting’ process.

Marquis has a love of color and shape and is always in anticipation of surprise when firing each piece, as different colors emerge each time and no two pieces are identical. She does not use any patinas, but searches each fire painted sheet of copper for shapes and designs before cutting out shapes for her jewelry. Often, you will find semi-precious gemstones in her work, which are all set in fine silver to compliment the colors found in the fired copper.

A multi-talented Artist, Marquis implements hot and cold metalsmithing techniques such as soldering, bezel setting, riveting, wire wrapping, forging and fusing.

Update: due to the state-wide shut down due to the COVID-19 virus, the Roycroft Campus has been forced to close its buildings to the public. However, LeAnne’s exhibition can be viewed and purchased online here: Gallery Webstore.
